Training & qualifications
Dr CR Oosthuizen matriculated in 1973 and graduated MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch in 1979. He completed his M.Med (Orthopaedic) at the University of Pretoria in 1989 before entering private practice in 1990.
Practice history
Dr Oosthuizen began at Garden City Clinic and Life Flora Hospital in 1990, before relocating his private practice to Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital in 1996, where he continues to consult and operate today.
Clinical focus
His subspecialty interests are arthroplasty of the knee and hip and spinal procedures, with a particular research focus on Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty (UKA). He developed the UniQ implant and the KOGS grading system, and authored The UKA, a clinical reference text on partial knee replacement.
