92–95% at 10 years, 85–90% at 15 years, with most failures convertible to total replacement.
Modern medial UKA implants have a published 10-year survival of 92–95% and 15-year survival of 85–90% in international joint registries. These numbers are in the same range as total knee replacement.
Failures are usually gradual — progressive arthritis in another compartment or polyethylene wear — and almost always convertible to a primary-style total knee replacement with good outcomes.
